The #1 Rising Junior in lacrosse is...

Sept 1st., Words of Wisdom, and more.

Good morning.

I’m Jake and this is Recruit Report presented by Apex Lacrosse Events.

I’m your friend who tells you everything you need to know about high school lacrosse.

Apex just opened up applications for the Apex 60 Showcase.

Over 600 ALUMNI are now playing college lacrosse, and there’s over 50 college lacrosse coaches attending.

Spots are closing soon, and you can fill out an interest form here.

Now, let’s get into it!

The September 1st Craziness Has Already Begun

It’s been a few days since the recruiting window opened, and it’s been a wild ride so far:

  • 52 minutes after the recruiting window opened, IL’s #24 junior Grady Taylor committed to Cornell. I think he broke a world record for the fastest commitment ever…

  • UNC picked up their first recruit with Nate Sage - a lefty Canadian sniper from Lawrenceville. He’s still relatively new to field lacrosse, so his upside is huge.

  • UVA got their next Petey LaSalla. They snagged IL’s #31 junior Griff Meyer from Haverford. At 5’6, 190 pounds, he’s the prototypical UVA face-off man.

Inside Lacrosse and NLF Release Top 50 Junior Rankings

Rankings are officially out for the class of 2025 from IL and NLF.

Although the lists are quite different in some areas, there’s agreement from both sides on the #1 recruit: Brendan Millon.

If you’ve been around lacrosse for awhile, you’re familiar with the Millon last name. They’re certainly making a run for one of the greatest lacrosse families ever.

Brendan’s brother McCabe is the #1 ranked incoming freshman in college lacrosse. Oh, and his mom and dad? They’re both in the lacrosse hall of fame.

Will he follow in his brother’s footsteps and go to UVA? Or will he blaze his own trail at another college?

A Reminder to Stay Patient

For some of you, it’s been a crazy past few days. For others, it’s been pretty quiet.

For those in the second group, don’t get discouraged.

Duke just recruited rising senior Nikolas Menendez - a full year after his recruiting window opened. There’s countless examples of other similar stories.

While top recruits might be getting flooded with calls, use this free time to double down and get ahead.

Now’s a good time for some reflection…if you aren’t getting the calls you want, ask yourself a simple question:

“What do I need to do to get the calls I want?”

Then make a plan and go make it happen.

Every college lacrosse coach agrees that no one raised their stock more this summer than Luke Bair.

The middie from St. Paul’s plays at 110 miles an hour. He reminds me a lot of former #1 recruit Andrew McAdorey.

If you’re a middie in high school, break down these highlights and see what you can learn.

They’re on repeat for me this week!

Remember, every week we feature a recruit. Respond to this email to nominate a player!

Talk to you soon.

P.S. Make sure to fill out an interest form before the Apex 60 Showcase spots close.

Best,

Jake
