Does Notre Dame Have the #1 Lacrosse Recruiting Class?

The Irish look to reload after a national championship.

Good morning,

I’m Jake and this is Recruit Report presented by Apex Lacrosse Events.

I’m your friend who tells you everything you need to know about lacrosse.

Now, let’s get into it!

2026 Lacrosse Recruits Fly Off the Board

September is officially here. It’s been more than a week of craziness as college coaches do everything they can to secure their 2026 recruiting class.

So far, the back-to-back national champion is in the lead.

Notre Dame snagged #1 overall recruit Dylan Faison and #7 recruit Hunter Metz, as well as 3-talented 4-stars.

By the time I send this email, I wouldn’t be surprised if more 4 and 5 star recruits make their announcements to the Irish as well.

But it isn’t just Notre Dame that’s stockpiling top recruits…Virginia just made a huge pickup with #1 ‘26 goalie Hunter Mezzatesta.

Last season UVA’s goalie struggles might’ve cost them a chance at a national title, so securing a formidable keeper in Mezzatesta is exactly what they needed.

A Reminder to Stay Patient

For some of you, it’s been a crazy past few days. For others, it’s been pretty quiet.

For those in the second group, don’t get discouraged.

There’s plenty of time to improve your game, get more exposure, and accomplish your lacrosse goals.

While top recruits might be getting flooded with calls, use this free time to double down and get ahead.

Now’s a good time for some reflection…if you aren’t getting the calls you want, ask yourself a simple question:

“What do I need to do to get the calls I want?”

Then make a plan and go make it happen.

This is Carson Miller, and he might be the most athletic recruit in high school lacrosse.

He’s an all-league point guard in basketball, a starting quarterback in football, and a middie who’s headed to Harvard to play D1 lacrosse.

The game experience in each sport will translate extremely well to the lacrosse field.
