The BEST High School Lacrosse Player Is...

The New #1 Recruit, Why Michigan Lacrosse Will Be a Dynasty, and More.

Good morning.

I’m Jake and welcome to Recruit Report presented by Apex Lacrosse.

We’re your lax rat best friend who tells you everything you need to know about high school lacrosse.

Let’s get into it.

Brendan Millon is the Newest #1 2025 Recruit

I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so.

In last week’s edition, I predicted Brendan Millon as the next #1 recruit in the class of 2025.

I’ll admit, it didn’t take a rocket scientist to make that prediction.

After an 80 point MIAA championship-winning season, it’s hard to think of a more accomplished sophomore.

He was recently named NLF’s #1 2025 recruit, and we’ll see what Inside Lacrosse says come September.

Prediction: Multiple 5-Star Lacrosse Recruits Will Commit to Michigan

If you’re a college lax fan, you know Michigan took a big leap this year.

After defeating Cornell to win their first ever playoff game, they stamped themselves as a legitimate contender in college lacrosse.

To me, Michigan has all the qualities it takes to build a dynasty in the next 10 years:

  • D1 Atmosphere: Michigan’s football program and sports atmosphere is hard for any D1 lacrosse school to rival. It’s an easy sell to recruits who want to have a life outside of lacrosse.

  • Academic Reputation: The Ross business school is consistently ranked top 10 in the nation. This is extremely attractive to recruits thinking about their careers beyond lacrosse.

  • Location: UM is in the heart of plenty of overlooked lacrosse talent. States like Ohio and Michigan are churning out D1 prospects every year, and they’re perfectly positioned to snatch them up.

All in all, Michigan feels like a school most similar to UVA.

I predict multiple championships in the next 10 years. There’s already 7, 4-star commits in the class of 2024, and I predict even more in 2025.

Wilton Wins Their First FCIAC Championship in 25 Years

It’s been over 10 years since any school not named Darien or New Canaan won an FCIAC championship.

It’s been nearly 25 years since Wilton won an FCIAC championship.

But after plenty of waiting, the Warriors are back on top.

Wilton defeated New Canaan 8-4 in a defensive battle led by goalie Evan Blankenship’s 12 saves, and Jack Schwartz’s lockdown play on New Canaan’s leading scorer, Doster Crowell.

Nobles Captures Back-to-Back ISL Titles

The ISL is one of the toughest high school lacrosse conferences in the nation.

But Nobles found a way to win 2-straight ISL championships, defeating Governor’s 14-10 this past week.

Senior attackman Grayson McClements was clutch with 2 goals and 2 assists, and he set an ISL record with 114 points on the season.

McClements was left out of the 2023 IL Top 50, but something tells me his ranking is about to go WAY up.

Look for him to get early playing time for the Quakers come next spring.

Featured Recruit: Khalif Hocker

Find me a more athletic high school lacrosse recruit than Resolute’s Khalif Hocker.

This dude can deadlift 600 POUNDS, and he’s NOT EVEN A JUNIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL.

But it’s not just his athleticism that shines.

He’s a crafty box player that can finish the ball like a Canadian.

Simply put, Khalif has the chance to be a transformative player in D1 lacrosse.

I’m excited to see which blue chip school lands him.

We’re picking a new recruit to feature every week. Reply to this email to nominate a committed or uncommitted player for next week!
