The Most UNDERRATED High School Lacrosse Player Is...

PLL Draft Picks in High School, How to Email College Coaches, and More.

Good morning.

I’m Jake and this is Recruit Report presented by Apex Lacrosse.

We’re your lax rat best friend who tells you everything you need to know about high school lacrosse.

It’s been another big week, so let’s get into it.

Manhasset Wins Long Island Class C Title Behind Jack Lamarca

Coming into the title game, senior Manhasset defender Jack Lamarca had one job:

Try and stop Shoreham-Wading River attackman Liam Kershis.

Kershis is a 5-star ‘24 recruit committed to Duke, and he was coming off a dominant 5 goal performance in his previous game.

But Jack Lamarca got the job done, and held Liam to 1 assist en route to an 11-6 victory over SWR for the Class C championship.

Congrats to the other LI schools on their championships: Farmingdale, Garden City and Cold Spring Harbor.

Where Were the PLL First-Round Draft Picks Ranked in High School?

The PLL had a great opening weekend, and plenty of rookies had BIG games.

Being the high school lax junkie I am, I had one question: how good were these PLL rookies when they were in high school?

Here’s a breakdown:

  • Pick 1: Gavin Adler | Not Ranked

  • Pick 2: Owen Grant | Not Ranked

  • Pick 3: Brett Makar | #4

  • Pick 4: Sam Handley | #79

  • Pick 5: Mike Sisselberger | #13

  • Pick 6: Tucker Dordevic | #27

  • Pick 7: Will Bowen | #2

  • Pick 8: Thomas McConvey | Not Ranked

Crazy. 3 first round picks weren’t even in the top 100 in high school. This should be motivation for any late-bloomers out there.

You Need to Send this Email to College Coaches this Summer

Now that the regular season is wrapping up, it’s all about summer lacrosse.

College coaches will be on sidelines of tournaments all across the country, looking for their next recruits.

If you’re playing in summer tournaments and want to get recruited, you NEED to email college coaches. This accomplishes two things:

  1. It shows you care about the school and automatically separates you from 95% of recruits that don’t email.

  2. Makes a coach’s life easier, since they know exactly when and where you’re playing.

If you need some email inspiration, find the email template we made at the bottom of the email.

Lacrosse Continues to EXPLODE

757,000 people watched the NCAA title game. That’s the most since 2007.

If you’re a lacrosse player or fan, you picked the right sport.

It’s crazy to think where lacrosse will be in 10 years.

After another dominant season for Manhasset, Jack Lamarca is on my radar as one of the most underrated lacrosse recruits in the country.

He’s a senior committed to Siena, and if you watch his highlights, you can see his potential from a mile away.

At 6’2, 165 lbs, he clearly has room to pack on muscle. A college weightlifitng program will be fantastic for him.

We’ll check back in in 4 years when he’s a PLL draft pick.

Remember: we feature a recruit every week. Nominate a player and we’ll pick one to feature for next week!

Talk you next week,

Jake
